Text Link Ads - Alternative to AdSense and YPN?

Ad

Text Link Ads

Unlike Google AdSense and Yahoo Publisher Network, Text Link Ads (TLA)  is a bit different as it does not provide contextual advertising in a way those two do. TLA specializes in placing static html ads on high quality, high traffic websites. TLA links don't come in preset layout's and can be customized to blend in with publisher website.

As a advertiser you can browse through the directory of approved publishers (1000's of high quality websites) and choose relevant websites you want to advertise on. With careful planning this can improve advertiser website in organic search engine ranking on Google, Yahoo, MSN etc. Every publisher has a fee set (minimum $25.00 per 30 day link)  based on TLA's in house formula.  This formula is also used to determine if a publisher is accepted in TLS's directory. To be accepted TLA looks at publishers website traffic, topic, ranking, quality, appearance and server-side processing.  TLA's  ad serving technology currently supports websites that use server-side processing. This includes any site that uses PHP, ASP, PERL, Cold Fusion, etc.

Once accepted as a publisher you get an email informing you how much you would get paid per link and how to post links on your website. Next step is to log in to your account follow instructions on how to serve ads. Minimum amount you can earn is $12.50 per 30 day link (50% of what advertiser pay). If you get approved for 6 links on home page your monthly earning would be $75.00.

With TLA you don't have to worry about CPC. As advertiser you always pay the same amount. As a publisher your income will depend on the quality of your website, because advertiser's are more likely to buy ads on better quality websites. One downside when comparing to AdSense and YPN is that with those two you start earning as soon as someone clicks on one of the served ads. With TLA you have to wait until advertiser buys a link on your website. However, TLA can coexist with either AdSense or YPN.

With that said the best thing may be to keep traditional contextual advertising and add TLA as another monetizing option.

Is TLA an alternative to AdSense and/or YPN?

If you don't run either AdSense or YPN, it definitely is a good alternative. If you already have Google and YPN it may be a good idea to join TLA.
