Overview

Just like other Amara products Amara Flash Intro and Banner Builder is very easy to use. The interface is very similar to  Amara Flash SlideShow Builder we reviewed last year. 

 Using Layout, Type, Text and Sound tabs located on the top of the left frame, you can navigate through the steps of creating your Flash Intros and Banners. Here are some screen shots:

The right pane lets you load previously created projects, create new projects and also preview and save the project.

New Project...

The layout screen let's you specify dimensions, border and background properties. You can choose to have image or simply a color background. Here you can also select to compress the movie, show preloader and also specify if the movie is going to play only once or loop. The Type screen let's you specify what your project will be; banner or intro. The maker of the software does a good job of explaining what you can do with each option. Here you can also choose to display "skip intro" link and also specify the URL where that link will take you.

Next is the Text screen. Here you can add lines of text you want to display, choose effect, specify position, timing and font style.

The last tab will take you to the Sound screen where you can add sound to your project. The files you can use are .wav and .mp3.

Once you are done clicking "Generate and Display" button in the preview frame will let you preview your project. If you like what you see you can use the Save tab on the bottom to save your project. Just like in Amara Flash SlideShow Builder the Flash Intro and Banner Builder will create HTML code you can copy and paste to your web page.

Summary

Amara Flash Intro and Banner Builder is very easy to use. It is a small software package filled with features a web designer can use to very quickly create Flash intros and banners. The software does a great job of manipulating the text in your banners but does not give you option to manipulate background images or colors. Still this little piece of software is can help you create pretty good looking banners or intros.
